Wright construction on schedule

Construction for a St. Clair business expansion is running smoothly and should be finished by the first of the year.

Tom Arquette, director of operations for Wright Plastic Products, said the 8,000 square foot expansion at the business’ St. Clair location is about 40 percent complete.

“They’re doing the block walls now and preparing to put the new parking lot in,” Arquette said.

The plastics company molds parts for primarily automotive products and some sporting goods products. Arquette said the business also does a large amount of overmolding plastic onto metal parts.

Wright Plastic Products employs about 34 employees right now, but is hoping to hire about ten more people when the work is finished.

“Our group of people here has done a great job handling the growth and they’re really eager to have some more room,” Arquette said.

So far, the construction has not disrupted work hours. However, Arquette said the company will experience some down time when a wall is removed between the existing building and the new expansion.

Arquette said work on the parking lot should be finished soon, if the weather does not turn too cold.
