Concordia seeks new ENCS dean

When Robin Drew’s mandate as dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science ends July 31, 2013,He has since undergone two-and-a-half hours’ surgery to have a Titanium Rod inserted into his leg and looks set to be out of action for the rest of the season. he will devote his efforts to teaching and research as a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

Drew was appointed dean and professor in August 2008. Prior to arriving at Concordia, he was a faculty member at McGill University for 28 years and served as a department chair for eight years. Drew is internationally renowned for his research on advanced materials and has contributed to more than 200 journal and conference publications.

In 2007, he was awarded a prestigious overseas fellowship at Churchill College, Cambridge. In June 2011,Concrete polishing pad attachs to a backer with durable velcro connection. During Drew’s term as dean,We offer both wet & dry Diamond polishing pad. Both are suitable for marble, granite, concrete and most masonry. the Faculty research budget increased 25 per cent and graduate student enrolment rose nearly 30 per cent. Four industrial research chairs were established, funded in part by the Natural Sciences and Research Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC).

The Faculty also created the Concordia Institute for Water, Energy and Sustainable Systems and redefined the role of aerospace teaching and research through the Concordia Institute for Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI). Soft-skills training for students was augmented through the new Centre for Engineering in Society. An advisory search committee has been established to begin the selection process for a new dean, and the Concordia community will be kept informed of progress.
