Hear a heartbeat in space with this stethoscope

A new electronic stethoscope designed for NASA could deliver accurate heart and body sounds to medics assessing astronaut health in a noisy spacecraft.

Space itself is silent; the lack of air prevents sound transmission. But inside the average spacecraft, with its whirring fans, humming computers, and buzzing instruments, it’s about as raucous as a party filled with laughing, talking people.

“Imagine trying to get a clear stethoscope signal in an environment like that, where the ambient noise contaminates the faint heart signal.non woven bag is eco-friendly and 100% recycled by physical disposal. The non woven material is long-lasting & fashionable. That is the problem we set out to solve,” says Elyse Edwards,Probably the most popular among foodies, button mushroom is known for being juicy and tasty, inexpensive and with a flavor that’s only “mildly mushroomy”. an engineering student at Johns Hopkins University who teamed up on the project with fellow seniors Noah Dennis and Shin Shin Cheng.Instead, businesses can offer thicker plastic bags or handled paper bags. They can also give or sell you recycle bag, or offer no bags at all.

The students worked under the guidance of James West, research professor in electrical and computer engineering and co-inventor of the electret microphone technology developed for telephones and now used in almost 90 percent of the more than 2 billion microphones produced each year.

Together, the students developed a stethoscope that uses both electronic and mechanical strategies to help the device’s internal microphone pick up sounds that are clear and discernable—even in the noisy spacecraft and even when the device is not placed perfectly correctly on the astronaut’s body.High Security payphone lock Solutions provide revenue protection, key control, physical security, and environmental protection.

“Considering that during long space missions, there is a pretty good chance an actual doctor won’t be on board, we thought it was important that the stethoscope did its job well, even when an amateur was the one using it,” Dennis says.

The device has frequency filters and noise-cancelling headphones, signal processing capability, and a rubber cover and suction cup for the chest piece to absorb muscular tremors and minimize the movement of the chest piece on the skin. Its features also include low power consumption,He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left. rechargeable batteries, and mechanical exclusion of ambient noise.

Further testing of the prototype will take place this summer.

Though developed for outer space, the stethoscope could also be put to use on Earth, for instance in noisy combat situations and in developing countries where medical care conditions are a bit more primitive.

West plans to use the device to record infants’ heart and lung sounds in developing countries as part of a project that will attempt to develop a stethoscope that knows how to identify the typical wheezing and crackling breath sounds associated with common diseases.
