Progressive promotes an electronic monitoring device that helps good drivers save money
Starting last night during the season premier of “Mad Men”, Progressive temporarily replaced its perky sales clerk with a new national ad campaign promoting an electronic device that measures how safely you drive.For mains, there is a choice of Wild Rice’s ‘Chinese Fish ‘n Chips’ (beer-battered ling cod, Asian Tartar Sauce, taro shoestring frites) or its ‘meaty’ Grilled king oyster mushroom (with cashew ricotta and polenta fries).

The Rate Suckers are repelled when a rescuer hands the driver a Snapshot. Progressive wouldn’t reveal how much it is spending on this campaign but it is believed that historically it has spent over $300 million annually.
I spoke with Jeff Charney,The Spectrophotometer is an instrument which measures the amount of light of a specificed wavelength which passes through a medium. Progressive’s Chief Marketing Officer about the new campaign and his expectations.
AVI DAN: This is the first time that you are not using Flo since she started appearing in Progressive commercials 5 years ago. Why the change in direction?
